A Simple Practice to Connect With Yourself (2 min read!)

Do something every single day that connects you to yourself.

Don’t skip this critical component to your good health and well-being.

Connection is where we find joy. Where we meet friendship, kindness, love, and support.

Where we feel valued and heard; where empathy, compassion, and trust reside.

And while these things can be found in union with others, the interactions are far richer when you are able to first find them within ✨

When you approach yourself with curiosity, openness and an intention to understand, you gain an opportunity for real inquiry, deep connection, and radical transformation to take place.

Treat yourself to your own kindness, attention, empathy, and self-compassion. Imagine how much easier it would be to communicate these emotions and thoughts to others, when you can first effectively communicate them to yourself...

A simple and very effective practice that you can do anywhere, at any time, without any special equipment, is just to check-in with yourself.

Find a quiet moment, take a slow steady breath, and ask yourself, "How am I feeling? What's going on for me right now?"

Notice what comes up without judgment.

Bonus points if you write it down in a journal! This gives you an opportunity to more clearly formulate your response and writing it down gives you a little space from it so you can look at it more objectively.

Repeat often!

Make time for this every single day. Your mental health and well-being will thank you for it.
