I heard a phrase last week that I couldn't wait to share with you. It's been a beautiful reminder that I can tap into peace and ease regardless of what's going on around me.
Peace begins with me ✨
𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐟𝐟 𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲:
** Your alarm clock didn't go off - ie you didn't want to get up ;)
** The kids are screaming and fighting.... again
** Your boss is in a bad mood
** You spilled something on your shirt before a big meeting
** You forgot your password and can't access that info you need
** Your phone battery went dead and you don't have a charger
** There is endless traffic and you're already running behind
** You're closing your yoga studio after 7+ years of running it with the most amazing group of people...
𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 ✨
** I can't control the people in my life - what they do, say, think or believe
** I can't control the events that happen around me
** I can't do anything about the past
** I don't know exactly what the future holds
And yet... peace begins with me ✨
𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 (𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲!) 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.
** Moving your body regularly so you can feel good in your skin
** Trusting yourself to make the right decisions around food and nutrition
** Journaling
** Being outdoors
** Music, art
** Meditation
** An inspirational podcast
** Breathing practices
** Reading
** Quiet time alone
** A long drive
If you don't know what it is that connects you back to the inner peace that is already there (sometimes it's just hiding behind fear, insecurity, and comparison...), try something new.
Try it today. Do not wait.
When you feel safe and secure on the inside, the external events don’t have as much pull.
We work on these practices when we might not necessarily need them (like in a yoga class, relaxing in bed, sitting in meditation etc…), so that they are available and familiar when we do.
And we can fall easily into their comfort.
You don’t need to have a specific background, previous training, the 'right' clothes, or even any equipment.
You can do it in your own way.
Any time, any place.
Work now to build inner trust so you can better handle the inevitable stress that life have in store.

Have a beautiful, peace-filled week!
